DJ EDSKI

Nelson "Ed" Garais, M.D. landed in the Bronx, NYC in 1972 on 168th Street (walking distance from the famed Sedgwick Avenue, the birthplace of hip-hop). He has been deejaying professionally since 1995 and has been LIVE mixing hip-hop, r&b, funk and soul classics for private, corporate and public events.

To say that Edski is "old school" is redundant. He mixes and crafts live sets which derive from previously forgotten deejay skill sets that predate the current digital age of the dj controller. The old ways combined with the latest technology and sound give Edski an edge over the competition. If you are looking to throw a retro-themed party, then he is your deejay. He was actually there when the song was released.

Ed accompanied by his wife, Millie, started a production company in 2013 in a charity response to the Typhoon Yolanda Disaster relief efforts to the Philippines. Little did they know it would grow to a full production company for sound, lighting, deejay services, and certified ZIN Zumba Instruction. Millie has garnered contracts to teach at George Mason University, Fairfax County Public Schools, World Gym and Born 2 Dance Studios. Star Three Sounds even performed live over the internet during the Pandemic.

Edski emigrated to New York City in 1972. He went back (balikbayan) to the Philippines for Medical School at the Royal and Pontifical University of Santo Tomas School of Medicine & Surgery in 1994. There he not only successfully learned medicine but he also got indoctrinated to "Filipino Swing Music." The likes of Kalapana, Mike Francis, Rah Band, Voyage and VST & Company are part of his vast repertoire.

We charge $100 per playing hour (venues less than 65 persons). We do not charge for setup and breakdown time. We are based in Fairfax and will charge a $50 distance fee for venues greater than 45 minutes from Fairfax, VA (home base). We have uplighting and extra lighting for $100. We also have large roll-down projection screens (110 inches) with projector for $100. We also have 12 inch wireless battery-powered speakers for outdoor microphones set ups for wedding ceremonies. We also do not charge to "emcee" your event. We also can do karaoke and children's parties with games. Give us a call. Odds are we did your party in the past. (P.S. We also have table and chair coverings for rent as well.)
